Instruments donated by  Gretsch Foundation

The 2008 Savannah Folk Music Festival will again feature the “Noteworthy Art and More” Exhibition and Auction. Since the Festival is free to the public, the Savannah Folk Music Society must raise funds to support the various events. Part of these funds come from an auction of Gretsch-donated guitars transformed by Savannah- area artists into unique objects of art. Also, fine Gretsch guitars and other items are autographed by celebrities and put up for auction.

This year, the items will be exhibited at the Lobby Gallery in City Market in the month of September and the auctioned at two Festival events, the Friday, October 10th, Folk fest in City Market and the Sunday, October 12th, Concert in Grayson Stadium.

Savannah artists participating this year include Gayle Bolton, Sandra Davis, Harry DeLorme, Sharon Dobbs, Barbara Gentry, Bobbie Kraft, Sue Nichols, Grace Rohland, Albert Seidl, Illa Shola, Andrea Stark and Tal Willis. The Society is grateful to these generous artists for their contributed services.

As items for the exhibit and auction become available, they will be displayed on this page.
