2012 "Noteworthy Art" Exhibition

and Auction

The silent auction will be held in two parts, half on the evening of Friday, Oct. 12th at the Ellis Square Folk Fest and half during the Concert in GRAYSON STADIUM the afternoon and evening of Sunday, Oct. 14th.

 

ADVANCE BIDS may be made at any time prior to the silent auction by providing a valid signed check payable to SFMS in the amount of the guaranteed bid specifying the particular auction item and received by SFMS at the following address: SFMS c/o 121 South Sheftall Circle, Savannah GA 31410 no later than 5th October 2012.

 

The Silent Auction BID sheet for that particular auction item will indicate that a valid advance bid has been placed. In the event that the advance bid is exceeded by a higher bid during the silent auction, the advance bidder’s check will be returned by mail.

 

Plans are in hand to hold an online auction of some of these guitars on EBAY – details will be provided later.

 

ALL Bids will start at no less than $150 for Noteworthy ART Guitars and $250 for Celebrity Signed Guitars and be raised in at least $10 increments.  Cash and check or major credit card  (with picture ID) are acceptable payment.  Art guitars come with display stand and Celebrity-autographed guitars with stand, soft gig bag case and letter of authenticity. As we proudly present the NINTH annual “Noteworthy Art” Exhibit and Silent Auction in support of the 23rd Annual Savannah Folk Music Festival, the Savannah Folk Music Society thanks the GRETSCH Foundation for its generous donation of beautiful historic series guitars and Portman’s Music Superstore for the donation of guitar stands and cases.  Some of the guitars have been autographed by the biggest names in folk music. Most have been adorned by Savannah’s finest artists. Purchasers of these unique items will have treasures and help ensure the Festival remains free & open to the public.

 

This years celebrity autographed guitars have been signed by:

 

1) Grammy Award winner singer/ songwriter Kathy Mattea;

2) 27 time Grammy Award Winner Alison Krauss and Union Station;

3) National Finger Style Guitar Champion and harp guitar expert Muriel Anderson

5) Grammy Award winner singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan

6) 2012 Folk Music Festival Cast signed guitar: Doug Macleod, Al Petteway & Amy White, Curley Maple, and Deidre McCalla

 

The EXHIBITION of the Art Guitars will be held at the Visitors Center on Ellis Square in downtown historic Savannah from Sept 10th, 2012 until the festival opens on October 12th.
